Slugs Aren't so Bad

About 14 years ago we discovered two cats eating bird seed under our bird feeders. Someone had abandoned them and they were struggling to survive. Having several indoor cats, we attempted to merge them into our happy menagerie to no avail. So we bought a wonderful heated little pet condo for them and now we feed them milk and cat food twice a day.
Today as I was picking up their dishes, I wondered what on earth are those brown slimy things??? I got down on my knees and discovered… Sammy and Sally Slug!
I watched them nibble at Tyger and George's scraps! How fascinating to watch - their antennae stretching and shrinking - their mouths (?) eating the morsels of food! God's creatures both great and small are a miracle to behold!

Aloe Bloom & Key Ring

Mother's Day was special!  My sister, her husband and son joined me and hubby to celebrate the day by taking my Mom to dinner.  We had a great time! :)
Here is an updated picture of the aloe vera bloom!  Amazing, isn't it?!  Who would know that this houseplant blooms?!
If you look at my earlier post, the flowers were tightly closed and snuggly tucked beside each other.  Slowly the stem grew, spacing the flowers further apart.  This past weekend, the strange buds began to open.  Fascinating - watching the miracles of life unfold!  Aren't the blooms amazing?
In this photo you can see how long the stem is...  You can also see Puffy, my sweet furry boy!

Last, but certainly not least, I'd like to share a photo of a key ring that I bought for myself!  It's just lovely!  It is made by the father of a friend of mine, Rose!

It's a bit hard to see, but the key ring is fashioned from a fork!  It is so cool!  You can clip it to your purse and know where your keys are!  Mine were always lost in "the abyss"!  If you look, you will see it clipped on the left and another picture of it (super-imposed) on the right!  The dear little lady is Mrs. T. Bagg.  A wonderful creation by my dear friend Rose!  She sells both on Etsy.  Check out her blog where you can seem them better and learn all about them!  Rose's blog is a real treat and either the key ring or Mrs. T. Bagg would be a *wonderful* gift for someone you love!
