"Lust" One of the 7 Sins

I'm working again on Pandora and the Seven Sins!  Here we have "Lust"!  She is "cooked" and ready to be painted.  I think I will wait and paint them (all of the "sins") at the same time.
Today I will be working on "Anger". . .   Stay tuned! :)

Cleaning Gourds

If you read my blog last summer, you know that I grew gourds!  I not only grew them, but God grew them and they took over our entire yard!
I wasn't sure what to do with my massive harvest, but most of my research encouraged me to let the gourds harden outside (where they had grown) over the winter months.  I did this with more or less positive results, although some of the gourds split :(
Now I have to clean them - ugh!  Again, back to the internet...  "Bring them in after a good soaking rain."  Sunday we had a downpour!  On Monday I brought about thirty mouldy and crusty gourds that were good and wet into the kitchen, filled one side of the sink with water and covered the gourds with a wet towel.  One by one, I used a scrubber on the gourds to remove all of the yuk!
This morning I looked at them all with great satisfaction!  They are *beautiful*!

In two and a half days I leave for Marilyn's Hawaii Creativity Retreat!!! Yikes! I still have to finish the "Flower People" that I am making as a surprise for my Mom!

Flying McCoys

Here is the little boy from the Flying McCoy's cartoon strip that my Mom is sculpting from PaperClay! She *loves* this cartoon and has been having a blast sculpting the family of McCoy's! She tells me she is going to sculpt the little girl next and then the dog! Stay tuned...

Flying McCoys

Well here's the latest on Mom's sculp-ture, Mr. McCoy! She is more or less done sculpting him (she still plans to add belt loops!) and has begun to paint him. Isn't he a riot?! She *loves* the cartoon and plans to sculpt "Mrs" next!

PRIMS

Meet Millie & Sunny! Don't they make you laugh? They are "Prims" - more or less :D! Jane DesRosier is teaching this interesting class at http://clothclaydolls.ning.com/. and it's a blast!

Sunny, is my Mom's Prim and she has yet to be painted. When my Mom saw my Prim, Millie, she just had to join the fun! Unlike me, my Mom has been making dolls for years! I *love* Sunny! I love Millie too, but Sunny cracks me up! Isn't she precious?

In the next few days the "girls" will get skirts! Stay tuned! :)

Polymer Clay "Lust" Inspired by Barbie

Yes! I am teasing, at least a little! I have almost finished sculpting "Lust", the first "Sin" to go into Pandora's Box! And since this past week was Barbie's 50th birthday, I can't help but think she was toying with my subliminal brain waves! Could "Lust" be Barbie at 50?! Let's hope not! lol!

Well, here she is! I have yet to sculpt her hat and shawl, and oh yes, I have to paint her too! Then I shall begin to work on the next sin, "Anger". Stay tuned. . .

Finished Making Pandora's Arms!

Still working on Pandora, with Marilyn Radzat's online class ...
I just finished sculpting her arms and covered them with fabric. Gosh! This step made me nervous! Here is a picture... I'll be attaching them as soon as I sculpt the baby, Hope. Since her arms will be in a fixed position, I want to know how she will hold Hope before I permanently attach them to her body.

Pandora and The Seven Sins

Ever thought of taking an online doll making class? I'm taking a very interesting and fun online class at "That Creative Place" with doll artist extraordinaire, Marilyn Radzat!
This past week I finished adding Pandora's tutu to her (gourd) body. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have time to work on her hands and arms!
Stay tuned...
